On Sunday 26th of January 2020 the Romanian International Darts Open singles took place. Besides this event the semi finals men and finals of both the men and ladies of the Romanian Classic Darts Open were taking place. The matches on stage were all streamed.
Wayne Warren, Nick Fullwell, Martin Marti Santamaria, Jason Lovett, Marjolein Noijens and Amanda Harwood were all ensured of playing at least one match on the stream by reaching the semi finals of the men event or the final of the ladies event of the Romanian Classic Open on Saturday.
Amanda Harwood from England claimed the Romanian Classic Darts Open by beating the Dutch Marjolein Noijens 5-1 in the final after beating among others Hungarian Veronika Ihasz, Greek Margeta Chatzi and Jitka Cisarova from Czech Republic on her way.
Wayne Warren won the Romanian Classic Darts Open after beating Catalonian Martin Marti Santamaria 6-3 in the final. The BDO World Champion had beaten among others Loukas Trynipioti from Cyprus and Nick Fullwell on his way to his second trophy this month.
The Romanian International Darts Open started on Sunday with again the semi finals men and finals of both the men and ladies being played on stage. Deta Hedman claimed the trophy after beating Anca Zijlstra 5-2 in the final. The Heart of Darts had beaten the Hungarian Veronika Ihasz and was a plague for the Dutch since she had beaten Melanie Vermaas and Marjolein Noijens already before the final. Andreea Brad and Oana Cimpoca, who both made it to the last 16 were the best Romanian ladies losing against respectively Anca Zijlstra and Adrienn Vegso. It was another good day for Hungarian darts with Adrienn Vegso making it to the semi finals and Vivien Czipo and Veronika Ihasz reaching the last 16.
The Romanian Laszlo Kadar and Adrian Frim made it to the semi finals of the Romanian International Darts Open just like Anthony Allen and Nick Kenny did. Gabriel Pascaru, who lost the last 16, was another Romanian who did well in his home country in the mens event. After Kadar had beaten Allen 5-4 the hope of an all Romanian final in Bucharest was still alive. Nick Kenny prevented it by beating Adrian Frim 5-0. Nick Kenny, who saw his fellow country man Wayne Warren win the Romanian Classic Darts Open earlier on the day, made it the second trophy going back to Wales. Kenny had beaten among others Catalonian Martin Marti Santamaria, the Greek Kostas Pantelidis and thus the Romanian Adrian Frim and Laszlo Kadar on his way to the trophy. Wayne Halliwell, who reached the quarter finals, and Andreas Michailidis, who reached the last 16, showed there are some quality players from Cyprus as well. The Danish Brian Løkken also showed once again what he is capable of reaching the last 16 as well.
